Case Study: StaffScapes Website Launch

This month’s case study is a review of our client, StaffScapes and their website activity since their new site launch on July 20th. StaffScapes has been a client of FiG’s since 2013 when they came to us for some tweaks to an email campaign. Now, FiG works on StaffScapes social media, monthly SEO, and recently, the launch of a re-branded, customized, mobile-friendly website.

Who is StaffScapes?

FiG's Work on the new Staffscapes Website.

StaffScapes offers a variety of HR solutions to businesses in need of help with compliance and mitigation, payroll services, training and education planning, workers comp., employee benefits, and more. They say it best, “StaffScapes is a Professional Employment Organization (PEO) serving small to mid-sized companies in the Denver area and across Colorado since 1996. A PEO company cost-effectively takes on the responsibilities of an organization's HR policies and alleviates administrative burdens for businesses.”

StaffScapes' Website in the Numbers

From July 21st to September 21st of this year, compared to the same period last year, there has been an 18% increase in pages viewed per session and a 52.12% increase in Organic Search alone. The number of goal conversions (contact form fills) has increased 200%, which means more people (a lot more) are getting in touch with Staffscapes to discuss their needs and Staffscapes’ services.

Staffscapes by the numbers.

Staffscapes by the numbers.

These numbers will only improve with time as we continue to optimize their website and social media.

Staffscapes knew it was time to update their site, but how do you know when it’s time to update yours?

Why Update Your Website?

The first question to ask yourself is, “Is my site mobile designed and optimized?” According to Marketing Land,“Mobile now represents 65 percent of digital media time, while the desktop is becoming a ‘secondary touch point’ for an increasing number of digital users.” Translation: websites that are mobile friendly are more important than ever.

Google has different rankings for mobile and desktop. You walk around with your smartphone, not your desktop, so Google views search from each device slightly differently. They serve up more geo-targeted results when you search from your mobile whereas on desktop they can deliver broader location-based results.

That’s why it is not only important to have a mobile design, but also SEO efforts that will impact your mobile rankings as well. (Hint: if you have a business that relies heavily on foot traffic, it’s imperative that your site design and SEO is geared toward mobile.)

If you’re not mobile-friendly, it may be time to look at a website refresh. A modern website sets the tone for your brand. It communicates to the users that you are credible, responsive, and understand that their needs are the driving force behind your business. When your site is out of date, you are telling visitors as well as Google that you haven’t prioritized the customer’s experience. With as much time and effort as you put into making your customers first, isn’t it time your website reflected those values?
