New Branding Client: Variable Steel

Variable Steel, a steel fabrication company, was founded by Jesse Tillman and his brother, Vernon in Atlanta Georgia. For the past ten years, the company which fabricates, designs, engineers, and erects steel has grown steadily without the help of any formal branding or marketing.

Word-Of-Mouth Marketing

What’s remarkable about this family-owned and operated business is that it has been garnering projects consistently in the past decade purely by word-of-mouth. With current and former clients like Mercedes-Benz Falcons Stadium, the Birmingham Airport, and NASA, clearly, the word-of-mouth has been working.

Getting To the Next Level

But to get to the next level, Jesse knows he must up their game, so he decided it was time to hire professional marketers. He learned about FiG through the branding and website work we did for Burgess Services. He liked what we did for them, and began talking to us about how to better communicate his company’s value proposition and differentiate his work from his competitors.

Branding: Logo

First, the company wants a new logo that will convey the nature of their company as a critical variable in the overall equation of building construction. FiG’s logo creation process involves translating into a visual image the core values of a company and their unique value proposition. Variable Steel’s new logo will visually convey their commitment to being a partner in problem-solving.

Branding: Website

While the company has grown consistently through word-of-mouth advertising, a website provides further information for prospective customers and opens another avenue by which people can find you. We will create a website for Variable Steel that will spell out what they do, how they do it, and why you should work with them.

Search Engine Optimization

A website is only as good as its search engine optimization (SEO). Without good SEO, your website won’t be found my potential clients searching for your services, no matter how great the site is. FiG will be optimizing the new Variable Steel website so that it gets found in search engines.

When you think about great coffee or tea, do you see your local café? Our new client, Redcup Beverage, is bringing that coffee house flavor to offices in the Denver metro area. redcup offers fresh roasted coffee and organic teas, clean, fresh water and ice, and good-for-you snacks delivered right to your office. We think what they do—creating those workplace moments where co-workers gather together over an exceptional cup of coffee or tea—is pretty awesome. When they asked FiG to redesign their website, we were thrilled to take on their web development project.

The Redcup Beverage site will highlight their commitment to partnering with local coffee companies to offer coffee products from the best coffee roasters our state has to offer. It will also detail all the services they offer and their exceptional customer service. Their site will be finished soon, so we will post the beautiful results next month.

At FiG, we’ve done brand development in Denver for numerous companies over the years. It’s one of the most interesting things we get to do because we can delve into the roots of a company and create a brand image that reflects the core principles and value proposition of the organization. AimHire

When AimHire, a Denver-based employment agency decided to expand their brand, they turned to FiG, a Denver branding agency for help. AimHire is forming a new company specializing in executive sales placement, so they need a fresh new brand for this effort. Our team determined that the best way to define the strategy behind the brand was to start with market research. This research would give us insights into the kind of look, feel, and messaging that would make the firm stand out from the competition.

The research fuels the strategy which propels all the other decisions in the brand such as the name, the logo, the color palette, and the website design. Because it’s not enough to choose pretty colors and a cool name; the entire brand and all it’s marketing communication pieces have to uniquely represent the company in a way that will resonate with the target market.

Branding a New Payroll Services Company

Lodestar Tax and Accounting is a client that FiG branded back in 2013. Lodestar, “provides outstanding service to our clients because of our dedication to the three underlying principles of professionalism, responsiveness, and quality.” In the years since we branded them, their business has expanded, and they reached out to us recently to help them brand a new payroll company they are launching. This new service will offer cost-effective and comprehensive reporting and timely payroll administration.
