Supplying Updates To A Client's E-Commerce Website In Denver

We celebrated our company's 12th anniversary earlier this year. And we coincidentally recently restarted a business partnership with one of our first clients ever. In 2009, one of our first company projects was a website redesign of the e-commerce site of Forms Direct, a Denver-based national supplier of business forms and membership cards. Over a decade has passed, and we are working, once again, with Forms Direct to redesign their e-commerce website in Denver.

At Real FiG Advertising + Marketing, we were thrilled to have another opportunity to work with Forms Direct, and we know we're more than up to the task at hand.

Why Periodic Website Updates Are Important

In our modern era, every business needs a website! It's an absolute necessity if the business owner hopes to stay competitive within their industry.

Unfortunately, many business owners will often create their company website and then forego site updates for many years. Without periodic updates, a company website can struggle to appear relevant and stay competitive (Customer Think). Furthermore, if you do not update your company website, other problems may arise, such as:

  • Ranking issues - Without new and fresh content on your website, your company site may have extreme difficulty ranking organically on the first page of search results.
  • Security problems - Over time, site security can become compromised due to missing system updates and broken security features.
  • A non-mobile-friendly interface - Every website must be mobile-friendly these days. If your site cannot be viewed properly on a mobile device, you'll lose many prospective customers.
  • Outdated designs - Let's face facts: consumers don't want to use sites that look outdated. A more stylish site design will catch the eye of your customers and help your brand stand out from the crowd.

As a general rule of thumb, most web design experts across the industry recommend redesigning your website every 2-3 years (Medium). Of course, there are exceptions to this rule and you shouldn't just update your site for the sake of change. You should have clear reasons behind your push to redesign your site.

Changing The Forms Direct E-Commerce Website In Denver

As mentioned earlier, FiG reimagined the website for Forms Direct over a decade ago. A lot has changed since then, and the leadership at Forms Direct realized it was time to give their site a facelift. FiG was happy to help.

Interface Changes

The original Forms Direct website does not have the aesthetic nuance and modern interfaces of today’s top e-commerce sites. The site still functions well, converts visitors, and can handle client orders efficiently. However, the imagery, page layout, and user interface system have not been up to par with current industry standards.

That's why our site designers are focusing heavily on improving the customer experience by updating the site aesthetics and user interface. At FiG, we will take steps to simplify the site navigation and upgrade the site's branding with updated images, eye-catching fonts, and strong colors.

We will also implement custom site features to showcase products more effectively and streamline the e-commerce process.

Security Updates

Site security is one of the top priorities of any e-commerce website. With the rise of cyber-attacks and anonymous hackers, website security has never been more important. That's why we're going all out for the security features on the Forms Direct site.

The website is already hosted on Magento, an open-source e-commerce platform. This secure platform has a great reputation for top-of-the-line security measures, and we'll customize those measures even further for Forms Direct.

FiG will go the extra mile to keep the site safe and secure. One way we’ll accomplish that goal is with captcha security checks contact forms and product pages to keep out spammy contacts and fraudulent purchases.

Once the website is published, FiG will conduct routine SQL checks to identify any other vulnerabilities on the website.

Search Engine Optimization Foundation

Like many of our other marketing partnerships, search engine optimization (SEO) will be the final piece of the Forms Direct site redesign. Our marketers will re-establish a solid foundation of SEO across the entire site.

To accomplish this goal, we'll conduct intensive keyword research of their national competitors and identify the appropriate key phrases to target on the Forms Direct site. We'll then go through each page and product on the new site and fully optimize them for those keywords according to SEO best practices.

From there, the site will be all set up for sustainable success down the line.

Stay tuned for future updates!
