Yahoo! To Launch New Logo

Last Tuesday, August 6th, Yahoo! revealed a new logo on their site. If you weren’t a fan, not to worry. Tuesday's logo was only the first of "30 days of change" where the company will show 30 variations of the Yahoo! logo over the next 30 days. The campaign is in preparation for the release of the official new logo in early September.

Corporate Identity Projects Completed

FiG is very excited to show you two recently completed corporate identity projects!  One is for the Open Lotus Acupuncture & Herbs, and the other is with Denver Sports and Family Chiropractic Center! In November 2011, FiG awarded the winners of Rocky Mountain Micro Finance Institute’s Fall 2011 Business Launch Boot Camp (RMMFI) a corporate identity project.  Marie Hahn, the owner of Open Lotus Acupuncture & Herbs, was one of the winners. Design concept: Our FiG creative team took a lifestyle approach on this project.  The branding focuses on the five Great Chinese Elements: Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth. Logo: The lotus image in the center indicates a calm and peaceful mind for Open Lotus' clients.  Each of the five pedals presents one of the five Great Chinese Elements. Business Cards: The five strips across the logo also represent the five Great Chinese Elements with the elements' colors.  The same colors also show on the back of the cards, in artistic & flowery images. Denver Sports and Family Chiropractic Center was a recent client that we announced a month ago. Design Concept: In order to create a different meaning from most other competitors, our FiG creative team brought the active and holistic concept to life.  The idea behind it is that Denver Sports and Family Chiropractic Center is not a quick-fix, but a full recovery clinic that cares about your longevity.

  Logo: The running athlete represents the active movement that the clinic's patients hope to regain.  The whole body outline along with the active movement indicates the holistic benefit of full recovery. Business Cards: The curve between the logo and business card content shapes like a mountain, which vitalizes the running athlete and gives it a vivid interpretation of a complete cure.

The Client Denver Sports and Family Chiropractic Center is a local chiropractic practice, specializing in pain relief treatments for athletes and individuals who are active outdoors.  The company believes that every patient is unique; therefore, every treatment should be customized to meet their exact need. The Challenge Chiropractic is a primary healthcare profession that specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of conditions that are due to problems with the joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves of the body.  It makes it difficult to not compete on price due to the small amount of differentiation in this industry.  Denver Sports and Family Chiropractic Center came to FiG for an opportunity to brand itself as a professional sports chiropractor.  Thus, separating them from most other chiropractors who approach their practice with a lifestyle focus. The Project Our team at FiG sees an opportunity to differentiate Denver Sports and Family Chiropractic Center as a professional sports chiropractic practice.  Instead of using a lifestyle friendly approach, the key differentiators will be the doctor's extensive experiences within the sports industry and their understanding of the importance to regain strength for an athlete.  In the following month, we will design a logo, business cards, and website banner ads to support the new identity. New Client Announcement--The Petroleum Building

We at FiG Advertising are very excited to announce that once the home of the biggest "Petroleum Club" in the world, the Petroleum Building in Denver downtown has become one of FiG's most recent clients for a branding strategy project!  This historical building is looking for a branding strategy that speaks to both its history & pride, and the up-to-date renovations, which have replaced obsolete systems. The challenges that the Petroleum Building faces are two-fold.  For starters, the brand has to present itself in two quite opposite positions: maintaining the history and pride that the building possessed from the late 90s while still reflecting the more recent upgrades and renovations to the building and its systems.  The second challenge surrounds properly targeting four very different  business categories that the building attracts.  We must effectively utilize the brand to address and meet each segment's needs without creating conflicts or confusion to other segments. What we will do:
  • Redesign the Petroleum Building's brand under these guidelines to represent for both historical and efficient images.
  • Research and develop a way to strategically position the Petroleum Building away/above its direct competitors.
