Here’s Howhttps://www.figadvertising.com/news/denver-social-media-marketing https://www.figadvertising.com/news/denver-social-media-marketingDenver Social Media Marketing Is Changing. Here’s How

Social media is always evolving. Every few months new platforms pop up, top-performing content changes, and algorithms update, so it’s no wonder why it’s tough to stay on top of trends. As 2020’s events have forced more online communication, social media marketing has taken on greater significance than ever before. And as a result, Denver social media marketing is continuing to change.

Think about it. We’re entering a highly-anticipated new year. The COVID-19 vaccine is slowly (but surely) rolling out and most people find themselves feeling cautiously optimistic about the year ahead. For social media marketers, 2021 will require more thoughtful planning than in previous years. It’s true that digital marketing is always evolving, but 2020 shook up the industry so dramatically that most marketers will have to revisit everything they thought they knew about effective and engaging social media marketing.

As a top social media marketing agency in Denver, we’re covering everything you need to know about the key changes we expect to see in the year ahead.

Social media marketing is more prominent than ever before

Average time spent on social media has increased significantly. And it’s no wonder why – as stay-at-home orders were enforced all across the world, social media was there to keep us connected with friends, family, and the brands we love.

In the past, some could argue that having an active business presence on social media wasn’t 100% necessary. But after 2020, that belief couldn’t be further from the truth.

The most effective platforms in 2021

Not only is social media, in general, becoming more prominent, but so are certain platforms. According to Hootsuite, one of the most popular social media management tools, 78% of marketers find Facebook to be the most effective platform for reaching their business goals. Coming in second is Instagram with 70% of marketers saying it’s the most effective platform. And in third place is LinkedIn with 42% of respondents.

Hootsuite also discovered that for marketers who don’t invest in paid social ads, Pinterest and Twitter were found to be the most effective channels for organic engagement.

And in a year filled with national and global news stories, including COVID-19, BLM protests, and the U.S. election, it’s worth mentioning that Twitter saw significant growth as well. Brands that want to be involved in these online discussions will do well to focus on Twitter in the upcoming year.

Social media can lead the light in customer loyalty

If there’s one thing that social media does well, it’s helping brands stay connected with their most loyal customers. In fact, Forrester Research, a leading global market research company, predicts that spending on retention marketing will increase by approximately 30% in 2021.

For brands that want to improve customer loyalty and decrease cost per acquisition, they should focus on providing valuable information on social media, responding to comments and questions, and building a close-knit online community.

3 Trends That Will Change SEO In Denver In 2021https://www.figadvertising.com/news/seo-denver-2021-trends https://www.figadvertising.com/news/seo-denver-2021-trends3 Trends That Will Change SEO In Denver In 2021

As 2020 comes to a close, we can all finally breathe a sigh of relief. This year has been one hectic rollercoaster ride, mainly because of the COVID-19 pandemic. And now that the year is fading away into the rear-view mirror, it’s time to look forward to the future. What changes will the new year bring and how can we best prepare for all of it? There are a number of trends and recent updates that will surely impact SEO in Denver for the foreseeable future. As a top SEO agency in Denver, we are here to break them down to help you prepare for 2021.

Trust us, you’ll want to prepare for these changes now so that your business can make the biggest impact in 2021.

How SEO In Denver Will Change In 2021

Even if search engine optimization (SEO) isn’t your top marketing channel, it would be unwise to ignore it this year. The pandemic has accelerated the shift towards a more digital world, and it has triggered changes in online shopping behaviors that will likely have lasting effects (UNCTAD).

Traditional retail sales have declined while e-commerce has skyrocketed. In fact, U.S. e-commerce sales are projected to finish with $709.78 billion in 2020 (Forbes). That is the biggest jump in the e-commerce share of retail sales in a single year. And these new consumer behaviors aren’t going to change any time soon.

If you want to make the most of your digital presence, you cannot ignore SEO any longer. Here’s what you need to pay attention to in 2021.

1. Core Web Vitals & The User Page Experience

A few times a year, Google will implement broad core updates to their search engine and their algorithms. Of course, the tech giant makes smaller updates on a regular basis as well. However, these broad core updates can greatly influence search engine rankings. And there’s a big update coming in May 2021.

Google has announced that this planned broad core update will add Core Web Vitals as the newest page ranking factors, which is designed to improve the user experience on webpages. These Core Web Vitals will join the list of “page experience” ranking factors, which are:

  • Mobile-friendliness
  • Safe-browsing
  • HTTPS-security
  • And intrusive interstitial guidelines

So, what exactly are these Core Web Vitals? They are complex measurements of how users experience the speed, responsiveness, and visual stability of a page. Let’s define the 3 Core Web Vitals that will impact the future of SEO in Denver:

  • Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) - This is a measurement of the time it takes for a page’s main piece of content to load. An ideal LCP measurement is under 2.5 seconds.
  • Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) - This measures the amount of unexpected layout shifts of visual page content (e.g., when you click on a link, but the page shifts around and reads that you clicked another area). The ideal measurement here should be less than 0.1.
  • First Input Delay (FID) - This measures the amount of time it takes for a page to become interactive or responsive to user actions (e.g., clicks, taps, key presses, etc.). This metric should ideally be 100 milliseconds or faster.

While these ranking factors don’t go into effect until May 2021, you can start optimizing your site for them now to get ahead of the curve. Review your critical rendering path to optimize your server responses and ensure content loads in the viewport quickly. Reserve static space on your pages for images, videos, ads, and more. And try to reduce the Total Blocking Time (TBT) on your site as well.

Of course, many of these improvements require a tech-savvy mind. So, you may need to enlist the help of a professional SEO agency in Denver to optimize for these Core Web Vitals.

2. Focus On The User & The Search Intent

The idea of search intent is nothing new to the SEO industry. For numerous years, digital marketers have known that in order for content to perform well, that content needs to address the search intent. However, if there’s one thing that 2020 showed us, it’s that the user experience is incredibly important. All that’s to say, we all need to refocus our content strategies to provide the answers our target consumers are looking for.

So, how do you identify search intent? You can pursue many different research routes to discover search intent. From using the rich snippets and information on SERPs to identifying search intent via location or mode of search, there are many research methods at your disposal. There also are many online tools out there that can help you pinpoint search intent.

Search intent has traditionally fallen into 3 groupings. And while you can segment search intent even further, all searches will still fall under these 3 umbrella terms:

  • Informational intent
  • Navigational intent
  • Transactional intent

Once you understand the search intent, you’ll be able to craft the right kind of content to match that intent. It can also help you select the most appropriate CTAs, predict which SERP feature is most likely to be displayed, and help you discover new topics and key phrases to target.

So, as you create new content for your site in 2021, remember to keep your main focus on the users, and not solely on search engine algorithms!

3. Shifting To Mobile-First SEO In Denver

Hopefully this trend comes as no surprise to you. For several years now, Google has started working on mobile-first indexing, as they have crawled the web using a smartphone Googlebot. And earlier in September of 2020, Google officially made the switch to mobile-first indexing.

Like other updates, this change is designed to benefit user behaviors. After all, over half of all searches worldwide take place on a mobile or tablet device. So it only makes sense to prioritize the sites that are mobile-friendly over the non-mobile-friendly ones.

What does this mean for your digital presence? Your entire site must become mobile friendly and you need to prioritize the mobile device user experience (UX). Desktop sites will essentially become irrelevant in Google’s eyes by March 2021. So, if you hope to maintain your grip on your current search engine rankings, then you need to move towards a more responsive, mobile-friendly site design.

Revitalizing Dementia Care As A Chicago Web Design Firmhttps://www.figadvertising.com/news/chicago-web-design-firm https://www.figadvertising.com/news/chicago-web-design-firmRevitalizing Dementia Care As A Chicago Web Design Firm

Our marketers at FiG are very excited to announce the addition of another client to our ever-growing portfolio. Thanks to our new Chicago-based office, we have struck up a new partnership with The Creeks, an innovative assisted living community specializing in personalized memory care. As The Creeks was beginning to establish their third memory care residence, the owner of the company decided it was time to update their digital presence. They came to our Chicago web design firm to get started on the process, and FiG was more than thrilled to provide a helping hand.

A Brief Background On Our New Client

There comes a point in many seniors' lives when they can no longer live on their own. Those individuals can be well taken care of in assisted living facilities. However, seniors with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease require specialized memory support services in addition to their assisted living needs. The Creeks aims to provide both those services in an idyllic home-like environment.

In 2009, Teresa Crawford founded her first memory care residence called The Aspen Creek in Sullivan, IL. As the nurturing and supportive community reached capacity, Teresa sought to expand her company operations. Now with a second community in Troy, IL, The Creeks is founding a third location in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This expansion into the new region prompted the owner to seek out an effective way to improve their digital marketing efforts.

Building The New Site As A Chicago Web Design Firm

Our partnership with The Creeks started off with the development of a new website for the business. While The Creeks had a functional website, their original design was not living up to the company’s expectations. The site painted a charming picture of the memory support residences, but it was struggling to attract qualified leads. So our web designers began developing the entire website from scratch.

A screenshot of the original site design for The Creeks, before working with our Chicago web design firm.
A screenshot of the original site design for The Creeks.

We began by restructuring the entire site design to improve the site navigation. After all, site navigation plays a key role in your visitor retention rates (Forbes). Each memory support residence was given its own page on the site, with corresponding subpages for amenities, about pages, and tour requests. This site structure allowed us to focus on the unique qualities of each residence and what distinguishes them from one another.

Our experienced web designers then worked to improve the overall aesthetic quality of the site. We created a cohesive brand identity across the entire site, leveraging real photos from the communities for an authentic feel. We additionally positioned the amenities and features front and center on the site, leveraging icons to catch the attention of site visitors quickly. We can’t forget about the strategic placement of client testimonials and contact forms throughout the location pages.

With the final touches placed on the design, our content writers began drafting optimized content for the various pages of the site. As dementia care can often be very technical, we aimed to embody the friendly and homey atmosphere of the communities in the content’s tone. While we worked to capture the resident experience in our writing, we made sure each page was fully optimized for the most relevant local keywords.

The finished website for The Creeks went live in late June 2020. Our marketers wasted no time moving onto our next digital marketing efforts.

Ongoing Search Engine Marketing

With the website up and running, our partnership transitioned into its second phase of search engine marketing (SEM). To build upon the SEO foundation established on the client site, FiG began publishing monthly blog content. Our content writers have targeted an abundance of local phrases relevant to their memory care services. Thus far, we have seen gradual monthly improvements for a number of key phrases and terms.

In tandem to our ongoing SEO efforts, our marketers have been managing a number of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising campaigns. These text-based ads have been targeting the geographic regions of the three Creeks communities and our marketers have been in the hours to ensure they’re reaching the right individuals. We will continue to leverage this dual-pronged approach to keep driving qualified leads to The Creeks site.

Marketing Automation Efforts

In the competitive industry of assisted living communities, it can be challenging to keep your target audience in the sales funnel. Children of aging parents with dementia will tend to shop around and compare their options for memory care homes. To keep site visitors engaged and interested in The Creeks, our marketers will establish marketing automation workflows.

At FiG, we will be developing a series of different automated marketing messages that correspond with various positions in the sales funnel. These messages will hopefully nudge consumers in the right direction to schedule a tour of the community and then sign the contract.

As time goes on, we’ll continue to tweak and improve our automated marketing efforts to benefit The Creeks. We know that we still have plenty to prove for our new client.

Stay tuned for future updates on our digital marketing efforts!

Creating A Business Wellness Path As A PPC Agency In Denverhttps://www.figadvertising.com/news/case-study-ppc-agency-denver https://www.figadvertising.com/news/case-study-ppc-agency-denverCreating A Business Wellness Path As A PPC Agency In Denver

Over a year ago, we began a collaborative partnership with one of the top chiropractors in the Denver metro area: Dr. Jeffrey McWhorter. He had been offering innovative treatments for chronic neurological conditions throughout the Denver area and decided to create his own chiropractic and neurological rehabilitation clinic. Dr. McWhorter needed the help of our branding, marketing, and PPC agency in Denver to get it up and running. Over the turbulency of the past year (2020), we were eager to lend a helping hand and we’ve seen some impressive results.

Recapping Our Past Work

As Dr. McWhorter was in the process of starting his business, McWhorter Chiropractic and Neurological Rehabilitation (CNR), we first supported our new client by developing the brand image for his business. As a highly experienced Denver branding firm, we were thrilled to have an exciting branding opportunity on our plate. To create an effective brand for his business, we carefully evaluated his business offerings and his professional personality. We also took into account his unique perspective to develop an eye-catching and authentic brand design.

With the branding in place, we then put on our web designer hats and set to work building a custom site for McWhorter CNR. As with all our websites, our designers focused on creating an ideal user experience that streamlined information and emphasized ease of accessibility. We made sure the site navigation was intuitive and that users would be able to find the resources they need quickly and efficiently. As we wrapped up the site with clear and professional branding, we optimized all of its pages for local and relevant keywords to establish McWhorter CNR in targeted search engine rankings.

The McWhorter CNR website officially launched in October 2019 and we began the next phase of our budding partnership: search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. Our experienced writers began creating monthly blog content for McWhorter CNR that targeted local keywords and phrases that were relevant to his industry. We additionally created a handful of PPC ad campaigns to drive immediate leads to McWhorter CNR. Unfortunately, the world had other plans in store in the coming months.

Navigating The Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic struck the world in late February and early March of 2020. Since then, the pandemic has created significant problems for businesses across all industries. For numerous months in 2020, businesses across the nation were forced to close their doors to flatten the curve of infections and protect the general health of the public. As McWhorter CNR followed suit and temporarily shut their doors, many of our marketing efforts were put on pause, but not for too long.

At the beginning of the summer of 2020, businesses began to reopen and we knew that our marketing strategy was all the more critical for McWhorter CNR’s success. Once his doors reopened, the marketing pros at FiG quickly began restarting marketing efforts to support his revenue stream. This time, our marketing efforts encompassed much more than just SEO content.

To support his resilient recovery from the pandemic, our marketers implemented a number of paid search campaigns. As a top PPC agency in Denver, we were up to the challenge. Our digital marketing specialists expertly crafted effective ad copy for his PPC campaigns and targeted the most appropriate keywords to ensure the maximum ROI from his ad budget.

In addition to these paid search campaigns, we also implemented hyper-targeted social media advertising efforts to attract new social followers and qualified leads for his business.

Results Of Our Marketing Efforts

Prior to the pandemic, the new site for McWhorter CNR was receiving some impressive results. From October 2019 to February 2020, the McWhorter CNR website saw:

  • An increase of 52.6% in total site visitors
  • A majority of visitors spending upwards of 3 minutes on the site
  • And an increase of 38.1% in total site contacts

After our brief marketing hiatus, we have helped McWhorter CNR emerge stronger through the pandemic. We’re very proud to say that our marketing efforts have contributed to some great results, such as:

  • A 119% increase in total site contacts since November 2019
  • A 56% increase in total site traffic in the same timeframe

Organic site impressions and organic clicks have also grown tremendously since the McWhorter CNR website launched. Over the past 10 months, Google impressions increased by approximately 10,458% and organic clicks increased by 471%.

To make matters even better, the McWhorter CNR website currently ranks on the first page of search results for over 20 relevant phrases. We’ve made significant SEO progress for many other targeted keywords.

How Google’s Antitrust Lawsuit Could Impact SEO Marketing in Denverhttps://www.figadvertising.com/news/how-google-antitrust-lawsuit-could-impact-seo-marketing-in-denver https://www.figadvertising.com/news/how-google-antitrust-lawsuit-could-impact-seo-marketing-in-denverHow Google’s Antitrust Lawsuit Could Impact SEO Marketing in Denver

Google is one of the most dominant tech companies in the world. Considered one of the “Big Four” tech giants in the United States, Alphabet—Google’s parent company—is worth more than $1 trillion. And with more than 80% of the market share, it’s safe to say Google dominates the search engine industry. However, the U.S. Justice Department recently filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google that alleges abuse of its dominance over smaller competitors by operating like an illegal monopoly. This recent lawsuit stands to greatly impact SEO marketing in Denver in the near future.

Before we dive into how this lawsuit could impact the future of SEO, let’s recap exactly what this lawsuit alleges.

The United States v. Google

This lawsuit has been slowly coming to fruition throughout the past year. As you may recall, back in September 2019, the “Big Four” tech giants (Apple, Amazon, Google, and Facebook) were undergoing antitrust investigations. And those lengthy reviews have culminated in this investigation.

According to the suit filed by the Justice Department, Google is harnessing its internet gatekeeper role to grow its already vast business empire, effectively stifling competitors and industry innovation. The Justice Department alleges that exclusionary agreements—such as deals with Apple that make Google the default search engine on iPhones—hurt consumers.

Officials at the Justice Department state that Google is buying special treatment for their search engine on devices and web browsers, which has created a “self-reinforcing cycle” of power abuse.

Experts agree this is only the beginning of what will likely be a lengthy legal battle. And Google has publicly declared that the lawsuit is “deeply flawed.”

"People use Google because they choose to, not because they're forced to, or because they can't find alternatives," the company said. "This lawsuit would do nothing to help consumers. To the contrary, it would artificially prop up lower-quality search alternatives, raise phone prices, and make it harder for people to get the search services they want to use."

What Does This Mean for SEO?

In the short term, this lawsuit doesn’t really have much impact right now. Google will continue to operate as normal and consumers will still see the same search results and ads that they usually do.

In the long term, if the Justice Department’s lawsuit proves to be successful, it could mean more search options on mobile devices at the very least. These new search options will likely have different algorithms than Google and rank content differently, meaning SEO strategies could have to vary widely depending on which search engine a consumer is using.

This suit may also mean marketers and ad agencies will have to adapt to new ways of thinking and writing. Content that performs well on Google could fall flat on another search engine and vice versa.

Key Takeaways

As a business owner, you may be wondering, “What do I need to do about this?” And to the honest answer is nothing, at least for now. As we said, this lawsuit will likely become a lengthy battle. So for the time being, your SEO marketing goals should remain the same: To use the power of search engines to help you generate leads and land sales.

Thoughts on Twitter’s BBC Dad Ad From a Social Media Agency in Denverhttps://www.figadvertising.com/news/thoughts-on-twitters-bbc-dad-ad-from-social-media-agency-in-denver https://www.figadvertising.com/news/thoughts-on-twitters-bbc-dad-ad-from-social-media-agency-in-denverThoughts on Twitter’s BBC Dad Ad From a Social Media Agency in Denver

Robert Kelly went from world-renowned political pundit to internet sensation overnight in 2017 when his live interview on BBC News was charmingly interrupted by his young children. Long before the days of constant Zoom meetings and work-from-home orders, this type of interruption seemed almost novel. Thanks to the pandemic, they are now fairly commonplace. In Twitter’s most recent ad, Robert Kelly is back to show you how to stay focused and avoid distractions. And as a social media agency in Denver, we’re always on the lookout for engaging ads—especially with pop culture references—so we’re here to share our thoughts on this witty advertisement.

Wait, Who Is the BBC Dad?

Before we dive in, you have to watch the original interview if you haven’t already. The video currently has over 41 million views, so it’s safe to say Robert Kelly, or the “BBC Dad,” has officially achieved meme status. Kelly, a well-known professor based in South Korea, has been a frequent face on many international broadcasts and news outlets both before and after “the interview,” thanks to his expertise on foreign policy. And now, he’s back in an ad to announce Twitter’s latest feature: response restrictions (an effective way to stop unwelcome interruptions).

An Eruption of Interruptions

In the ad, Kelly plays himself and is once again interrupted by his children adorably barging into the video and his wife, Jung-a Kim, frantically trying to get them out of the frame.

This time, a litany of other uninvited guests appear as Kelly explains how you can now keep your brand or personal communications on Twitter from being hijacked by uninvited, distracting guests.

Twitter’s New Conversation Settings

So, what exactly sparked this idea? Carlos Cantu, the Twitter EMEA marketing director, had this to say about the new ad: “We wanted to create a fun video to remind brands about Twitter’s conversational settings, and there is no one better to talk about unwanted interruptions than BBC Dad, Robert Kelly.”

With this new conversation setting, businesses and brands can choose who is allowed to respond to their tweets, whether it’s everyone, only the accounts they follow, or their own followers.

Essentially, these new restriction options can help give brands increased control over the conversations they start, so that distracting, unwanted replies don’t take away from meaningful conversations.

Our social media marketers at FiG believe this is a great feature that can really help brands reach the right people at the right time. And we believe that the hilarious ad that introduced this feature is equally as brilliant. We aren’t the only ones who loved it – responses from around the world show just how powerful these types of ads can be.

What To Consider When Comparing Denver Web Design Companieshttps://www.figadvertising.com/news/compare-denver-web-design-companies https://www.figadvertising.com/news/compare-denver-web-design-companiesWhat To Consider When Comparing Denver Web Design Companies

Every business needs a website to stay competitive in today’s market. If you’re eager to get a new site for your business or redesign your current one, you’re likely starting to research professional website design agencies. And in the ever-growing city of Denver, that can prove to be challenging. From large entities to small businesses, there are plenty of Denver web design companies at your fingertips. So, how can you ensure you’re making the right decision and hiring the right web designers for your business needs?

It might sound complex, but your decision process doesn’t need to be that way! At FiG Advertising + Marketing, we’ve been designing websites for small businesses for over 11 years. Throughout that time, we’ve pinpointed the key factors and considerations that business owners need to weigh when selecting the right web design company.

As you begin to compare local website design firms, make sure you keep the following things in mind. These considerations can help guide you to the right hiring decision that’s appropriate for your business.

Understand Your Website Needs

Before you start to look for website design companies, you’ll need a clear idea of how you want to use your website for your business. How will you leverage your site to accomplish your business goals? Will your site play a central role in your future marketing efforts or will it take a backseat to your overall strategy?

It is imperative that you carefully consider the kinds of things that you’ll want your site to do for you. Take some time to think critically about your current marketing methods and how you’ll use your website in tandem with those strategies. Here are just a few examples of what you might want your website to do:

  • Collect payments and handle e-commerce transactions
  • Integrate with your marketing automation tools
  • Sync up seamlessly with your CRM software
  • Generate quality leads for your business

Your site is essentially the digital embodiment of your business, so it should help you achieve your goals, regardless of what they are. For that reason, you need to make sure that your web design company can implement the custom features that are needed to achieve your goals.

Timeline

When you’re in need of a new website, you likely want it to be up and running ASAP. Unfortunately, quality websites are not made overnight. On average, it takes approximately 7-14 weeks to build a website from scratch (DreamHost). That timeline accounts for the site planning, design mockups, site development, content creation, and final review process.

Of course, a number of factors can influence the timeline of your professional website. Things like the number of pages and features, site optimization, design tweaks, and more can lengthen or shorten your project timeline. And if a website design company already has a few projects in the pipeline, your site may become further delayed.

If you need your site finished by a certain date, then it might be wiser to work with a smaller company that has fewer clients than larger entities.

Budget

As a small business owner, you’re always thinking about your budget. Throughout your fiscal year, you’ll need to set aside funds for many business expenses, from office equipment and payroll costs to taxes and small business insurance.

When you start to research various web design firms, you need to set a budget range for your website design. The pricing for custom websites will vary significantly depending on the companies you’re considering. So always remember to keep your overall costs in mind when speaking with a Denver web designer.

Consider Smaller Denver Web Design Companies

As mentioned earlier, you have plenty of professional website design agencies to choose from these days. While you might feel inclined to hire a nationwide chain with better name recognition, we encourage you to consider small businesses as well.

Smaller web design firms actually offer some unique benefits over bigger brand names. In fact, a small web design business may:

  • Deliver your finished website well within your timeline and your budget
  • Offer additional services (e.g., SEO support, PPC services, etc.), so you don’t have to look elsewhere for marketing support
  • Provide exceptional customer service, so you always feel like a priority
  • Have local business referrals that can help your brand in other ways

Why The Biden Dog Ad Is Effective, As Told By A Denver Marketing Firmhttps://www.figadvertising.com/news/biden-dog-ad-review-from-denver-marketing-firm https://www.figadvertising.com/news/biden-dog-ad-review-from-denver-marketing-firmWhy The Biden Dog Ad Is Effective, As Told By A Denver Marketing Firm

As the presidential race enters the final few weeks, we’ve all seen plenty of political ads. However, a new political ad in support of presidential-hopeful Joe Biden has caught everyone’s attention because it’s unlike any we’ve ever seen before. The ad centers on the fact that Donald Trump is the first U.S. president in more than 100 years who doesn’t have a dog. With the tagline, “choose your humans wisely,” the ad appeals to people across party lines through a beloved human interest: dogs. And it’s incredibly effective. Here’s why, according to a top Denver marketing firm.

Comparing the past with the present

The ad begins by featuring past presidents with the dogs they had while in office. First, we see Ronald Reagan and Lucky, a Bouvier des Flandres; George H.W. Bush with Millie, an English Springer Spaniel; Bill Clinton with Buddy, a chocolate labrador; George W. Bush with Barney, a Scottish Terrier, and Barack Obama with Bo, a Portuguese Water Dog (via AdAge).

These images of past presidents smiling alongside their dogs is followed with Trump yelling at a campaign rally, “How would I look walking a dog on the White House lawn?” and shaking his head at the mere thought. The ad ends with Biden and his dog Champ, with a powerful tagline of “Choose your humans wisely.”

This stark difference between past presidents and our current president draws into question the character of the president. It will surely make some voters ask, “Why doesn’t Trump own a dog?”

Red or blue, people love dogs

The “Choose Your Humans Wisely” ad was created by a group called Dog Lovers for Joe. The idea for the ad came to creator, Rob Schwartz, after he kept seeing “all these wonderful photographs of Joe Biden and dogs on the internet.” This realization led him to do a little bit of research to see if there was any science that supported the correlation between strong leaders and dog owners. He found many articles and studies supporting the belief that “dogs bring out the best in people.”

He started digging some more. And that led to his discovery that dogs were a unifying factor across party lines, as dog ownership is high in both red, blue, and swing states. Not only does this ad point out Trump’s unusual stance on dogs, but it also aims to appeal to people of every party and unify voters instead of dividing them. And we think that’s something we can all agree this country needs a little more of right now.

Denver Website-Design Company Upgrades Custom Client Sitehttps://www.figadvertising.com/news/denver-website-design-company-custom-site https://www.figadvertising.com/news/denver-website-design-company-custom-siteDenver Website-Design Company Upgrades Custom Client Site

Everyone at FiG is pleased to announce the revival of a partnership with a well-established small business, Creative Treatment Options. This Denver-based business operates as an outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment agency. In the past, we supported Creative Treatment Options (CTO) by leveraging our branding expertise and web-design expertise. Several years have passed and now CTO is ready for a custom redesign of their site. As a custom Denver website-design company, FiG was thrilled to have another opportunity to work once more with this past client.

A Little Bit Of History

Back in the fall of 2013, Creative Treatment Options (otherwise known as CTO) hired FiG for a new website design and some branding support. While their business has been successfully treating patients since 1997, the licensed counselors at CTO realized they needed a more well-rounded digital presence in place to support their business online. They then approached FiG, a Denver website-design company, to build a custom site design for CTO from scratch. Our site designers were more than happy to help.

Originally the CTO site was to be utilized as an information hub for potential clients. The site design emphasized user-friendly navigation, so that visitors could easily and quickly find information on treatments, programs, classes, and much more. Our site designers made sure the site was mobile-friendly, had responsive design elements, and was aesthetically aligned with the CTO brand. We capped off the custom site design with a robust foundation of SEO on every page of the site.

On top of our site project, we additionally assisted CTO with their branding by updating their company logo with a refreshed modern design. With the completion of a sleek new logo and a state-of-the-art site, our original partnership with CTO wrapped up at the end of 2013.

Our New Project: Redesigning A Custom Website

Over 5 years have passed since our original project with CTO and now we’re beginning to work on a second site redesign project. Internet design trends change annually and sites are constantly evolving, it’s wise to update your company site every few years. In fact, experts at Medium and other web design professionals across the industry agree that most sites should be redesigned every 2-3 years or so. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule and site upgrade cycles can vary by the company and the industry.

As we revamp the CTO website, our main focus will be on improving the user experience. We’ll start out by restructuring the entire site to improve site navigation and to make it easier for visitors to find the information they need. Our site designers will then focus on creating responsive pages and elements for a more engaging user experience.

From there, our team will ensure the site is visually striking and aesthetically pleasing by placing engaging pictures and videos throughout the site that correspond to the branding of CTO. This will help ensure that the agency connects with and resonates with their target audience.

As the site comes together, our writers will draft well-targeted content for the new pages of the site. These pieces of content will be fully optimized for local SEO, but we will simultaneously make sure the content is not over-optimized for search engines and is actually well-written for the target audience.

We’re very excited to get the new CTO website fully developed and launched in the coming weeks. As we prepare the site for launch, FiG will ensure the new site delivers exceptional results for CTO.

Stay tuned for future updates on the Creative Treatment Options site!

A 4-Step Guide To Develop Your Best Denver Marketing Strategyhttps://www.figadvertising.com/news/guide-develop-denver-marketing-strategy https://www.figadvertising.com/news/guide-develop-denver-marketing-strategyA 4-Step Guide To Develop Your Best Denver Marketing Strategy

It should go without saying that marketing is incredibly important to the success of your small business. Without the right marketing measures in place, you’ll fail to attract customers for your business. But that doesn’t mean any old generic marketing campaign will do the trick. Your tactics need to be well-targeted and appropriate for your business. And it’s not always easy to develop a campaign on your own. As Denver marketing experts, we’re here to help you navigate the right path towards marketing success.

Create Your Ideal Denver Marketing Strategy In 4 Simple Steps

Today we’ll break down effective marketing strategies into simple terms and determine which steps you need to take to create the ideal marketing strategy for your business.

Step 1: Determine Your Marketing Budget

Whenever we bring on a new client at our agency, we always ask the question: “How much are you willing to spend on your marketing on a monthly or annual basis?” While you can adjust your marketing spend in the future, it’s better to establish a reliable budget right from the start. An appropriate marketing budget must be (1) sustainable, (2) realistic, and (3) based on reliable data.

Unfortunately, many business owners only have a rough idea of their marketing budget. When you aren’t prepared with the right numbers, you may risk wasting your funds which will ultimately impact your bottom line. You need to think critically about your business and your current profit margins.

When you determine your marketing budget, you should take into account the state of your brand. More specifically, how long have you been in business? As Entrepreneur Media notes, newer companies (in business for 1-5 years) may want to put larger percentages of their revenue towards marketing than established companies that have been in business for longer than 5 years.

At FiG Advertising + Marketing, we recommend most small businesses allocate up to 20% of their annual revenue to their marketing strategy. We’ve found this percentage generates the maximum ROI possible when utilized strategically. Of course, this percentage can change depending on the situation. Some well-established companies can achieve great results by allocating 10% or even 7% of their revenue to marketing.

Step 2: Understand Your Target Audience

Your products or services are not designed for everyone. There is likely a specific audience of consumers that benefit the most from your business and are more inclined to become recurring customers. It’s time to think critically about your ideal target profile, who they are, and where you’ll be able to reach them effectively.

Many business owners will breeze through this step with an unrefined target audience like “Gen Xers,” “stay-at-home moms,” or “anyone interested in our services.” These kinds of general target audiences simply won’t do. As other marketing pros at Inc. note, your target market needs to be clearly defined so you know exactly where and how to market your company.

To develop a clear picture of your ideal audience, you need to:

  • Examine your current customer base - Are there any common characteristics or interests among your customers?
  • Review your competitors - Who are they targeting? Is there a niche market that they’re overlooking?
  • Consider your services/products - How are your offerings valued by your current customers? What features are most appealing to them and how are they used?

Once you have a more well-rounded picture of your target audience, you’ll be able to move into the next step of building your strategy.

Step 3: Pinpoint The Right Marketing Methods

Now it’s time to determine which marketing methods will deliver the biggest bang for your buck. This step is a critical point in your marketing strategy because if you select the wrong marketing methods, you may risk wasting your funds for a minimal return. At this point, you’ll need to carefully evaluate your options across traditional advertising methods and digital marketing channels.

Even though digital advertising is gaining popularity in the industry, traditional media can still deliver effective results. Some of the most common forms of traditional advertising include:

  • Print mediums (magazines, newspapers, etc.)
  • Broadcast advertisements (radio, TV, etc.)
  • Outdoor (billboards, flyers, etc.)
  • Direct mail campaigns (postcards, catalogs, etc.)

On the other hand, digital mediums are becoming mainstays for virtually every kind of business. The most frequently utilized methods of digital marketing include:

Traditional vs Digital Marketing

So, which methods are best for your needs? It’s a difficult question to answer since it depends heavily upon your target audience, your goals, and your industry. Both traditional and digital marketing methods come with their own sets of pros and cons. For instance, these methods can often conflict when it comes to:

  • Control Over Timing - Once your traditional advertisements are executed, they cannot be updated. On the other hand, digital advertisements can be updated on the fly.
  • Audience Targeting - Traditional marketing, such as magazine ads, can reach a segment of your target audience, but not all of your targeted customers. Online ads have more advanced targeting capabilities, so you can always reach your ideal target profile.
  • Engagement - With digital marketing tactics, consumers can easily engage with, reply to, and comment on many different types of digital media. Traditional marketing tends to be more of a one-sided conversation.

At the end of the day, it’s usually best to have a mix of new and old marketing methods in your strategy. Your audience is likely scattered across numerous mediums, and to effectively reach them, you’ll need to pursue a multi-pronged approach to your Denver marketing campaign.

Step 4: Execute Your Strategy

This step is often the most difficult for small business owners. Now that your strategy is thought out, you’ll need to actually create the advertisements, get the ads placed on the appropriate mediums, and track their success. It’s not always easy to juggle your marketing strategy with all of your other daily responsibilities. That’s why you may want to hire a professional Denver marketing agency. Luckily, you’re already in the right place.
